Frequently Asked Questions
What does unfreezing a token account do?
Unfreezing an account restores its full ability to transfer tokens. After an account is unfrozen, the holder can send their tokens freely, just like any normal account. This action reverses a previous freeze.
Who can unfreeze accounts?
Only the wallet address that holds the Freeze Authority for the token can unfreeze an account. It is the same authority that was used to freeze the account in the first place.
Can I Unfreeze Solana Token Accounts on Devnet for testing?
Yes. You can use Devnet mode to Unfreeze Solana Token Accounts on Devnet for SPL and Token-2022 tokens. Devnet is a separate testing network, so the token must exist on Devnet to perform unfreeze actions — Mainnet tokens cannot be used. Testing on Devnet helps you confirm your freeze authority works correctly, understand the workflow, and ensure you're unfreezing the correct accounts before doing it on Mainnet.
Can I unfreeze multiple accounts at once?
The current version of this specific tool is designed to unfreeze one account at a time for precision and security. If you need to unfreeze multiple accounts, you will need to perform the action for each address individually.
What happens after an account is unfrozen?
Immediately after the unfreeze transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, the account holder regains full control over their tokens and can transfer them without any restrictions. The effect is instant.
Can an account be frozen again after being unfrozen?
Yes. As long as the Freeze Authority has not been revoked, the authority holder can freeze and unfreeze any account for that token as many times as needed. Unfreezing does not prevent a future freeze.
What if the Freeze Authority has been revoked?
If the Freeze Authority for a token has been permanently revoked, no accounts can be frozen or unfrozen anymore. Any accounts that were frozen before the revocation will remain permanently frozen.
How much does it cost to unfreeze an account?
DEXArea charges a platform fee of 0.05 SOL for each unfreeze transaction. You will also need to pay the standard Solana network fee.
